Asian Youth Athletics Championship-2023 held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 27th to 30th April 2023. Bapi Hansda and Md Reyan of our state represent the country. Bapi Hansda secured Silver medal in 400m Hurdles event clocked 51. 38 sec and Md Reyan was part of Medley Relay team and India Team secured Silver medal clocked 1mint 52.96 sec.
Asian Junior Athletics Championship-2023 held at Yecheon, South Korea from 4th to 7th June 2023. DM Jayram represents the Country in 4 x 100m Relay event and India team secured Bronze medal in this meet.
Commonwealth Youth Games-2023 held at Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago from 4th to 11th August 2023. Bapi Hansda represents the Country in 400m Hurdles and 4 x 400m Mixed Relay event. Indian Relay team secured sixth position in this Relay event.
World Athletics Championship-2023 held at Budapest, Hungari from 19th to 27th August 2023. Kishore Kumar Jena Javelin thrower of Odisha represented the Country in this prestigious championship and secured 5th rank in World Championship. Kishore was the first athlete of Odisha participated in this Championship and also he created the history and state record in Men Javelin throw event with the performance of 84.77mtr which was the personal best throw in his career.
Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha presented rupees fifty lakhs to Kishore for his best performance in World Championship.
21st Under-20 Asian Athletics Championship-24, Dubai, UAE from 24th to 27th April 2024. Three of Odisha Athletes represent the Country. Sabita Toppo in 100mHurdles and 4 x100m Relay, DM Jayaram 200m and 4 x 100m Relay and Mahendra Santa in 4 x100m Relay event. DM Jayram and Mahinder Santa were part of Indian Relay Team and Relay team secured Bronze medal., Sabita stood 6th in 100m Hurdles, and Jayram also stood 6th in 200m event.
